Anna R. Butorayac

Anna R. Butorayac, 1105 Emerson Ave., Farrell, died early today (9-10-97) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after a brief illness. She was 86.

Service: Mass of Christian burial will be Friday (9-12-97) in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 370 Spruce Ave., Sharon, with time to be announced.

Burial: St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Hermitage.


Eugene R. `Buddy' Guerino

St. Bartholomew member active Sharpsville Booster

Funeral will be Friday (9-12-97) for Eugene R. ``Buddy'' Guerino, 335 S. Eighth St., Sharpsville. He died at 2:20 a.m. Tuesday (9-9-97) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after a brief illness. He was 63.

Mr. Guerino was born Dec. 7, 1933, in Farrell to Gasper and Mary Baretta Guerino.

He was a 1951 Farrell High School alumnus.

A Navy veteran, Mr. Guerino served in the Korean War.

Before retiring in 1980 from the former Shenango Inc., Sharpsville, he worked 30 years as a foreman. He later worked for Penn Ohio Electric and the former Sharon Steel Corp., Farrell.

Mr. Guerino was a member of St. Bartholomew's Church, Sharpsville, where he was an usher and a member of its Holy Name Society. He also was a member of Sons of Italy, Sharon; Italian Home, Farrell; Shenango Valley's Italian American War Veterans; and a 25-year member of Sharpsville Booster Club.

He coached basketball at St. Bartholomew's for 12 years and was Shenango Inc. Retirees Association treasurer.

Surviving are: his wife, the former Lucy Ann DelFratte, whom he married Sept. 20, 1952; two daughters, Mrs. Casey (Luann) Anglin and Mrs. Joseph (Christine) Davies, both Sharpsville; a son, Geno, Sharpsville; three brothers, Louis J. and Guy R., both Hermitage; and Anthony M., Farrell; and four grandchildren.

A daughter, Luann; and a brother, Joseph A., preceded him in death.


GUERINO

Eugene R. ``Buddy,'' 63, of 335 S. Eighth St., Sharpsville.

Calling hours: 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday (9-11-97) in STEPHEN J. SHERMAN FUNERAL HOME, 2201 Highland Road, Hermitage.

Service: Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Friday (9-12-97) in St.Bartholomew's Church, 311 W. Ridge Ave., Sharpsville, with the Rev. John S. Lynch, pastor, as celebrant.

Burial: St. Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage.


Clarence Ray Meckley Sr.

Was retired as history teacher at Mercer High

Clarence Ray Meckley Sr., 300 N. Pitt St., Mercer, died at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday (9-9-97) in United Community Hospital, Pine Township, after an extended illness. He was 74.

Mr. Meckley was born Dec. 23, 1922, in Altoona, Pa., to Clarence D. and Martha Maurer Meckley.

The Altoona High School alumnus was a graduate of Thiel College, Greenville.

A Marine veteran, he served in World War II and the Korean War.

Mr. Meckley was a retired Mercer High School history teacher.

He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Mercer; Free and Accepted Masons Altoona Lodge; Blue Lodge, Altoona; and Scottish Rite's New Castle Consistory and Erie Shrine.

Surviving are: his wife, the former Nancy Todhunter, whom he married Oct. 30, 1948; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Joanne) DeWoody, Franklin; and Marta Meckley, Palm Springs, Fla.; three sons, Clarence Ray Jr., Mercer; John Douglas, Raleigh, N.C.; and Richard, Knightdale, N.C.; three sisters, Mrs. John (Velma) Klassen, Cottonwood, Ariz.; Mrs. Lewis (Marian) Belcher, Harrisburg; and Mrs. John (Patricia) Vallari, Ocean City, N.J.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

Clarence Ray, 74, of 300 N. Pitt St., Mercer.

Service: Funeral at 11 a.m. Friday (9-12-97) in the funeral home with the Rev. William P. Crooks, pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Mercer, officiating.

H. Clair Mitcheltree

Butler man had sisters in Sandy Lake, Grove City

BUTLER _ H. Clair Mitcheltree, 532 E. Pearl St., Butler, died at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday (9-9-97) at home. He was 65.

Mr. Mitcheltree was born Jan. 3, 1932, in Franklin to Herschel C. and Lois Rosenberry Mitcheltree.

An Army veteran, he was a field artillery staff sergeant in the Korean War.

Before retiring, he worked 31 years as open hearth foreman for Armco Steel, Butler.

He was a member of Community Alliance Church, Butler, where he served on the salary and finance committee and as former financial secretary and past member of the church's governing board.

Surviving are: his wife, the former Esther M. Westlake, whom he married in February 1955; three sons, Thomas B., York, Pa.; Ronald C., Worthington, Pa.; and Russell P., King George, Va.; a brother, W. Glen, Zebulon, N.C.; three sisters, Jean Mitcheltree, Sandy Lake; Ruth Richter, Townville, Pa.; and Mrs. Earl (Charlotte) Baseler, Grove City; and one grandson.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road; or Hospice Program of the Visiting Nurses Association, 154 Hindman Road, both Butler 16001.


MITCHELTREE

H. Clair, 65, of 532 E. Pearl St., Butler.

Mary Causer Richards

Sharon native taught school 35 years in Canton, Ohio

SLIDELL, La. _ Mary Causer Richards, Slidell, died Thursday (9-4-97) in North Shore Living Center, Slidell. She was 85.

Mrs. Richards was born June 28, 1912, in Sharon to Edward T. and Emily Hoover Causer.

She was an alumna of Geneva College, Beaver Falls, Pa.

Mrs. Richards was a teacher for 35 years in Canton, Ohio.

She was a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star Grove City Chapter 86.

Her husband, Willis W. ``Bill'' Richards, whom she married July 19, 1940, died June 30, 1990.

Surviving are: a daughter, Mary Ellen R. Kilanowski, Slidell; a sister, Doll Cleland, Bingham, Wash.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A son, Edward C. ``Ted'' Richards; and two sisters, Evelyn Cairns and Jane Pumphrey, preceded her in death.

Grace Alice Wilcox

Deer Creek Township resident was a homemaker

Memorial service will be held for Grace Alice Wilcox, Deer Creek Township, formerly of Hadley. She died at 9:10 p.m. Monday (9-8-97) in Wengerd's Home Care, 415 Cranberry Road, Deer Creek Township, after an extended illness. She was 72.

Mrs. Wilcox was born May 20, 1925, in Nova, Ohio, to William P. and Ruth Browder Michel.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are: her husband, Henry E. Wilcox, Pocono Summit, Pa.; two daughters, Mrs. Steve A. (Karen) Kish, Stoneboro; and Mrs. Paul (Muriel S.) Lange, Huntingdon Valley, Pa.; two sons, Michael P. and Daniel R., both Carlton, Pa.; a sister, Winifred Michel Thomas, Chester, Conn.; two brothers, Dr. William Michel, Sacramento, Calif.; and Emory B. Michel, St. Mary's, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
