Burned girl being treated in Pittsburgh
A 7-year-old Sharon girl who caught herself on fire Wednesday afternoon is in the Burn Center of Western Pennsylvania Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Police said Veronica Cromartie has first, second and third degree burns over 30 percent of her body. They said Friday she was in critical but stable condition. At her family’s request, the hospital would not release any information about Veronica’s condition.
Veronica, of 1262 Baldwin Ave., was being watched by a neighbor when she went inside her home to get shoes. Police said she caught her clothes on fire while playing with a lighter.
