Local cops help catch Y-town fugitive

A Youngstown man wanted on murder and other felony charges was caught Friday afternoon in Sharon.

Kateo L. Patterson, 18, was arrested at 4:32 p.m. in the 200 block of Orchard Street on a fugitive warrant, police said. Patterson is wanted by Youngstown police on charges of aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated arson and kidnapping.

Sharon police and the Mahoning County Violent Crimes Task Force made the arrest. Police said the task force had an idea of Patterson’s whereabouts.

Patterson was set to be arraigned on the fugitive charge in Mercer County, police said. At a preliminary hearing next week, Patterson can either waive extradition to Ohio or go through an extradition hearing before a Mercer County judge.

Sharon police could provide no details about the crime Patterson is accused of.
