PYMATUNING TOWNSHIP

Man reports credit card scam

A telephone solicitor Monday night tried to sell a resident a strip that would prevent others from fraudulently using his credit card, Pymatuning Township police said.

The strip supposedly would be attached to the credit card. It seemed like a good idea, but there was one problem.

The solicitor asked for the man’s credit card number.

"He was smart enough not to give out that information. When he refused, the caller just hung up on him," said township Police Chief John R. Miller.
