SHENANGO TOWNSHIP

Both truckers cited for fiery June crash

State police have cited both drivers in a fiery crash involving two tractor-trailers June 20 on Interstate 80, Shenango Township.

Luc C. Doyon, 59, Stewartstown, N.H., was cited for driving at an unsafe speed, and Jacek Kuzdra, 25, Chicago, was cited for a log book violation, police said.

The accident occurred at 3:35 a.m., when Doyon’s truck, which was traveling 60 mph, ran into the back of Kuzdra’s, which was going 30 mph, police said.

Both trucks were in the right lane, police said.

Doyon’s tractor and trailer, hauling chicken, and Kuzdra’s trailer, carrying cardboard, were destroyed in the fire, police said.

Doyon and a passenger, Rita A. Doyon, 56, of the same address, were treated at UPMC Horizon, Farrell, police said.

The eastbound lane was closed for two hours and the westbound lane for four hours.
