NEW WILMINGTON

Garden Club’s flower show seeks exhibitors

"Tales through the Ages" will be the theme of New Wilmington Garden Club’s flower show Labor Day in New Wilmington Presbyterian Church.

Exhibits will be received Monday from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the church social hall. Judging will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The public may view the displays from 1 to 5 p.m.

The show is open only to amateur flower-growers and will be judged as standard show; there will be three ribbon awards for each class and a purple ribbon will be given for the most outstanding arrangement. A purple ribbon will also be awarded for the best specimen in the horticulture section. In addition, a green ribbon will be given for the arrangement voted the "most popular" of the show.

Only one entry in each class is allowed per exhibitor. Accessories, vases and painted material are allowed unless otherwise specified. No material on the conservation list is permitted, and no artificial flowers are allowed.

In the Artistic Division the plant material does not have to be grown by the exhibitor.
