Sunday school group contest winners named
A South Pymatuning (Township) Community Church student was a first-place winner in two categories of the Mercer County Sunday School Association's annual PEP-Plus Contest for children and teen-agers.
Carly Turk wrote an essay and designed a t-shirt that were judged winners in the 12-to-14-year-old division of those contest categories. Eighteen churches were represented in the contest, which also includes posters, poetry and bookcover designs. "In Sunday School I (We)..." was the theme.
All first-place winners' entries advance to the state contest in October in Lancaster County.
