SHARON
East State Street in Sharon will be closed from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday from Railroad Avenue to Shenango Avenue for the Small Ships Revue parade.
The parade will form at 5 p.m. on Railroad at Penn State University's Shenango campus softball fields and will move down Railroad to State, head north on Shenango Avenue, then west on Silver Street and north on Penn Avenue.
The parade will end in Rose Court. Besides State Street the cross streets on the parade route will also be closed for about an hour.
The revue fills the Shenango River in downtown Sharon with all kinds of locally built seaworthy and not-so-seaworthy vessels that compete for prizes. The event is sponsored annually by the 3 By the River restaurant complex in Sharon.
