Police are investigating gun incidents

Southwest Mercer County Regional police said they are investigating two robberies in which handguns were used.

No one was hurt in either incident, police said.

A Masury man was held up while walking at 11 p.m. Thursday at Fruit Avenue and George Street in Farrell, police said.

Two men approached the victim, one of them holding a gun, and demanded his valuables, police said. He gave up $10, police said.

A resident in the 900 block of Hamilton Avenue, Farrell, was accosted while sleeping at 5:39 a.m. Friday, police said.

The woman was woken by a man and threatened at gunpoint as another person ransacked the home, police said.

The woman did not see a second person, but the first man left after a knock on the bedroom door, police said.

It has not been determined if anything was taken, police said.

The back door was kicked in, which appears to have been the only damage, police said.

Police said neither victim could give usable descriptions of the robbers.
