Ohio man dies after minivan hit by tractor trailer on I-80

A Columbus, Ohio, man died as the result of injuries from a minivan-tractor trailer crash at 3 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 80 in Findley Township, police said.

Henry Schulte, 57, died at 6 p.m. Saturday at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, police said. He was flown there from the accident scene, police said.

Schulte's minivan was traveling in the left lane when it went off the road into the center median of the highway. The minivan traveled about 730 feet in the median before returning, sideways, to the roadway and into the path of a tractor trailer driven by Andy Hurley, 55, of South Beloit, Ill., police said.

The tractor trailer struck the minivan on the driver's side, then the minivan went off the north berm and came to rest against a small embankment. The tractor trailer traveled off the south berm and came to rest just off the road, police said.
