Renovations speed up

Sharon Speedway owners are moving ahead with a renovation of the west grandstands that was scheduled to take place in September, after the 2003 season.

The renovation has been part of the owners' plans since they bought the track last year.

Speedway owners Dave Blaney, Jim Kirila, Ron Kirila and Jim Weller Sr. bought the 74-year-old Hartford dirt track in January 2002 with plans to improve and add to it.
