Wilmington Area School District's estimated $3.6 million new stadium is nearly finished, but school administrators aren't setting any deadlines for completion.
Dr. C. Joyce Nicksick, superintendent, said the foundation for the field has been prepared and the district is awaiting the arrival of a group that will install the turf.
According to the contractor, that process will take about two weeks and must be done in dry weather, Dr. Nicksick said.
Soggy conditions over the summer slowed down a good portion of the project.
"Right now, it's just on a day-to-day basis," she said.
The field's main lights are going up, she said, and workers will be checking them to make sure they spotlight the area they're supposed to illuminate.
