3 Masury residents arrested after attempted break-in

Three Masury residents have been arrested in connection with an attempted break-in Monday night in the 7300 block of Brookfield Drive, police said.

Police said they arrested Cassandra J. Lorius, 19, and Ernest W. Gallagher, 43, and issued a warrant for Robert J. Gallagher, 32, all of 698 Brookfield Ave.

Police said a woman was on the second floor of her home when she heard glass breaking at about 11:40 p.m. Monday. She ran downstairs and saw a woman wearing a mask at the back door, police said. The resident ran from her home to a neighbor's where she called for help, police said.

When police arrived they said they saw people running from the house

Police said they arrested Ms. Lorius as she tried to hide in the snow; they arrested Ernest Gallagher at 12:21 a.m. Tuesday at his home. Robert Gallagher was picked up Tuesday afternoon in Erie by the Pennsylvania State Police and is awaiting extradition to Ohio, police said. He is charged with disrupting public services, a fourth-degree felony, police said.

Ms. Lorius and Ernest Gallagher were charged with burglary and are to appear at 9 a.m. today before Trumbull County Eastern District Court Judge Ronald Rice in Brookfield. Ernest Gallagher is also charged with complicity to burglary, police said.

Police said they are also investigating other burglaries and burglary attempts at that home in the last two weeks.

Sharon and Hubbard Township police assisted.
