The Way Nature Intended
As a child I remember
playing on my family’s farm.
Whether in the barn or in
the creek I loved sitting in si-
lence and taking in what
God created.
The beautiful sounds
where so peaceful and calm-
ing. I still enjoy spending the
day out in a field working
next to my dad. Farm work
is not easy but the rewards
of working the earth is more
than I can express.
I studied at Penn State
earning a degree in science
and became a registered X-
ray technologist. I practiced
in this field for many years
only realizing that something
was missing.
I did not like not knowing
what happened to the pa-
tients after a diagnosis. So
when I returned to the area I
decided to pursue other op-
tions only to be unfulfilled
and realizing I needed to be
my own boss.
It runs in the family, my
grandfather Kenneth Rust
owned the former Rust Dairy
and my father owned a fran-
chise of Jewel T General
store.
About two years ago I
started getting an itchy,
painful rash on my face. This
persisted for a period of time
until I was diagnosed with
several allergies to ingredi-
ents in the products I was
using and eating. The doc-
tors gave me a restricted list
of things to use.
Life was impossible. I had
to remove everything from
my home and surrounding
that was toxic to me. I went
as far as to shave my hair al-
most all off.
As I researched, I was
shocked that I was using
products with things like
formaldehyde in them. I
asked myself who needs in-
gredients like this in prod-
ucts? There has to be a safer
way.
So I started researching
and trying organic products.
My painful rash disappeared.
I found it difficult to find
the products
I needed. I
r ememb e r
talking on
the phone
with my sis-
ter and saying I am just go-
ing to open my own store. I
can’t be the only person hav-
ing a difficult time finding
the needed products of life.
So here we are today. I
have three awesome chil-
dren and a supportive hus-
band that agreed to take this
adventure with me.
My girls Cassidy, Saylor
and Piper are so excited
about being my little employ-
ees. My goal is to make their
future and the community a
healthier and safer environ-
ment.
I want to offer products
without chemicals, byprod-
ucts, and free of animal test-
ing.
If you are healthy and
looking for products to com-
plete your regimen or have
an ailment and need help, I
am here to provide a store
with a comforting environ-
ment and pleasant people to
help you with your needs.
I would like to offer class-
es for people that are strug-
gling with illnesses and are
looking for alternative treat-
ments.
Also, I offer my store as a
meeting ground to host sup-
port groups for people with
celiac disease and other ail-
ments that are affected by
their diet.
