What was the prom like back in the good ol' days? Here's a photo from the 1936 Sharon High School prom that was published on Feb. 27, 1937, in The Herald to promote the upcoming 1937 event. [Note: those in the picture were not identified]

Seniors at Sharon High School are busily engaged in making plans for their annual dance which will be held the third week in May. Last year, the affair was an outstanding function, as the happy faces of graduates pictured above between dances will tell you. This year's affair is expected to prove just as entertaining, in spite of an unannounced school board ruling that "clamps" be put on the hilarity after several 1936 graduates failed to show up for class after the function last May. Hal Kemp's orchestra is being sought for the big 1937 party honoring the graduates.
