HOWLAND _ Paced by a trio of double-digit scorers, Grand Valley eliminated the Brookfield High School boys' basketball team from the Ohio Division III Sectional tournament via a 63-53 verdict Monday night.
Justin Turk and Brad Dolon evenly divided 30 points and Bob Troyer chipped in with an additional dozen markers for Grand Valley (10-11). Dolon also led the Mustangs to a 30-22 margin on the backboards as he hauled in a game-high 10 caroms.

Brookfield (7-14) was led in scoring by Brian Kettler's 13 points and another 10 markers from Donnie Bell. Bell also grabbed eight rebounds.
The Warriors committed 14 turnovers, one less than Grand Valley.
However, the Mustangs enjoyed a decisive edge from the free-throw line. Although each team connected on 19 field goals, Grand Valley turned in an 18-for-22 (81.8 percent) performance from the charity stripe. Brookfield, conversely, turned in 11-for-15 (73.3 percent) marksmanship.
Grand Valley led from the outset, although the Warriors cut a deficit of a dozen points (30-18) at intermission in half (46-40) entering the fourth frame.
