Reynolds High wrestling team has been perfect in several tournament rounds this season, but the biggest perfect showing may have come Friday night in the Northwest AA Regional Championships at Sharon High School.

The Raiders went eight-for-eight and grabbed the lead in team points heading into the all-important semifinal round which was scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. today. Reynolds has 25 1/2 points after the quarterfinals, while Ridgway 17, Cameron County 16, Brookville 15 and Greenville 10, round out the top 5.

Ridgway and Brookville each had six wrestlers advance to the semis, while Cameron County moved five. Greenville and Seneca each had three alive in the winners bracket.

"As I said before the tournament, our positioning at districts was very important," said Reynolds coach Brian Hills. "Our six champions all won as we expected and Rocky Habel (125) and Justin Hollobaugh (112) both wrestled very well."

Hollobaugh defeated Brookville's Curt Puller by technical fall to help the team cause.

Other Reynolds winners were: Jason Kendall (103), Steve Popovitch (119), Jason Nestor (130), Justin Nestor (135), Doug Woods (145) and Jon Hollobaugh (275).

Three district champions did fall in the opening round, however, with Lakeview matmen pulling two of the upsets. Drew Rose (112) knocked off District 10 champ Greg Slater of Commodore Perry, 7-6, while Luke Slater (171) beat Sharpsville's D-10 champ Cary Kulka, 6-3. Brookville's D-9 champ Matt Geer at 119 was defeated by Seneca's Mike Shumac, 10-8.

The consolation finals will begin at 4:15 p.m. today with the finals to follow at 6. Following is a look at the weight classes after Friday's quarterfinals:

103- Raider Kendall faces a rematch in the semis with Seneca's Darrin Yaple, whom Kendall defeated 4-2 in the D-10 quarterfinals last week. On the other side of the bracket, Ridgway's unbeaten Dave Predko (31-0) is favored against Saegertown's Glenn Sample.

112- Hollobaugh looked impressive and will take on a familiar foe in the semis, Lakeview's Rose. Hollobaugh defeated Rose in the Section 3 finals and again in the district consolations. Defending regional champ Bruno Iorfido of Ridgway takes on Greenville's Billy Collins in the other semi.

119- Popovitch, who won regions at 112 last season, appears headed for a finals rematch with Greenville's Kurtis Holzshu, whom Popovitch defeated in the D-10 finals last week, 2-1. This morning Popovitch goes against Commodore Perry's Mike

Schiemer, while Holzshu takes on Seneca's Shumac. Popovitch pinned Schiemer last week.

125 - Raider Habel faces a tough go this morning against unbeaten Doug McGraw (31-0) of Cameron County, last year's 119 regional winner. On the other side of the bracket, D-10 champ Justin DeArment of Cambridge Springs goes against Brookville's Brad Cieleski.

130- Jason Nestor, the 125 regional champ last year, won by injury default in 1 second over Ft. LeBoeuf's Brad Kula and this morning will face Sharpsville's Jim Funk. Mercer's Eric McCurdy could be headed for a finals rematch with Nestor for the third straight week if he gets past Ridgway's D-9 winner Andy Steger in the semis.

135- A Reynolds-Brookville final is in the making here as Raider Justin Nestor, defending state champion, takes on Smethport's Charlie Hagg and Brookville's Keith Ferraro faces Girard's Skylar Waddell in the semis.

140- This should be one of the toughest pair of semifinals matches with Sharon's D-10 champ Jared Moss (25-1) taking on Ridgway's Chris Shilk (28-6) and Redbank Valley's Matt Brinker (26-1), the D-9 champ, facing Saegertown stud Jeremy Artman (31-2).

145- Another great pair of matchups this morning in the toughest overall weight class in the tournament. Raider Doug Woods (33-3) faces Ridgway's Greg Puncheon (31-4) and Brookville's Jason Gilligan (31-4) meets Seneca's Vern Roberts (30-3) in bouts that are key to the team points race. Roberts knocked off Coudersport's Aaron Wright, a regional champ at 135 last year, in the opening round, 4-2 in overtime.

152 - Weight class favorite Jeremy Reitz of Brookville, regional and state runner-up last year, tangles with Cameron County's Curt Fuenffinger in the semis, while on the other side of the bracket, Greenville's D-10 winner Jim Spiegel clashes with Clarion's Cory Cathcart.

160- Kennedy Christian's D-10 victor Jason Cecil meets Brookville's Garrett Hurd, while Clarion's freshman ace Kyle Cathcart faces Fort LeBoeuf's Nick Knight today.

171 - Lakeview's Slater, who lost to Sharpsville's Kulka in the Section 3 finals, gained revenge Friday and will go against Brookville's Randy Stout this morning. The other side of the bracket pairs D-9 champ Seth Fragale of Cameron County with Smethport's Denny Mitchell.

189- Unbeaten Ryan Sayers (29-0) of Cambridge Springs faces Aaron Cantafio of Brockway, while the semi shows Travis Shirley of Kennedy Christian against D-9 winner Adam Bickford of of Cameron County. Shirley defeated Bickford in the consy finals last year to advance to state.

275- Raider Hollobaugh will be looking for revenge in the semis against Paul Shilk of Ridgway. Shilk edged Hollobaugh at the Tool City Tournament. The other heavyweight semi should be a good one as Cameron County's Luke Fragle, defending regional champ, meets Fort LeBoeuf's Josh Fiske. Fragale beat Fiske, 7-3, here last year.
