Buhl art show winners announced
Jim Eaker, Sharon, won best of show with ``This is Not a Barn'' in the Buhl Day art show Monday sponsored by the Valley Arts Guild, Sharon.
Others winners were:
Professional fine arts -- Susan Jacobs, McDonald, Ohio, ``This is Henry,'' first place; Marlene Communale, Sharon, ``Fallen Hero,'' second; and Ken Gaydos, Sandy Lake, ``High Water Back Home,'' third.
Amateur fine arts -- Albert Zippay, Hermitage, ``Granpa's Farm,'' first; Samuel Gunnett, New Castle, ``Elizabeth at the Window,'' second; and Beth Long, Sharpsville, ``Floral,'' third.
Photography -- Jeff Zolnier, Sharon, ``Industrial Hauntings,'' first; Jim Eaker, ``The Speed of Gravity,'' second; and Mary Ann Propri, Warren, Ohio, ``Night Sweat,'' third.
Children's art winners were:
5- to 7-year-olds -- Spencer Kouch, first; Michelle Miller, second; Josh Matzel, third; and Thomas Bush, Becky Brown and Lizabeth Pulice, honorable mentions.
8- to 10-year-olds -- Dennis Lackey, first; Robert Rubano, second; Brett Glavey, third; and Danny Mosora, Ashley DelFratte and Angela Hempfill, honorable mentions.
11- to 14-year-olds -- Megan Marsh, first; Suzanne Butler, second; Bekah Mosora, third; and Elijah Pearce, Tony Marcelli and John Matzel, honorable mentions.
