Irwin Yanowitz
HOME: Sharon and Longboat Key, Fla.
EDUCATION: Graduated from Sharon High School in 1944. Graduated cum laude Western Reserve University in 1949 with a bachelor of arts degree. He was in the Air Corps Aviation Cadet Program, 1944-45. Graduated from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration in 1951.
EMPLOYMENT: Began working at Sharon Tube Co. in 1951 by overseeing the purchase of equipment for the company's new Sharon mill. He served as vice president of sales, 1952-1971. Named president of the company in 1971 and he served in that post until 1991, when he retired. He was retained as a consultant for the pipe and tube maker and was named chairman in 1996.
FAMILY: Wife, the former Sally Weiss of Youngstown. A son Mark, who is deceased; three daughters, Carol, Ruth, Sarah. They are expecting their first grandchild.
