    Valley Arts Guild announces 11 winners of Buhl Day exhibits

    The following winners recently were named in the Buhl Day art exhibit, hosted by Valley Arts Guild. The artists and their works:
    • Best of show -- Mary Ann English, Sharon, "Main Street in Main."

    • Judge's award -- Mark Ward, Cortland, Ohio, "The Pile."

    • Professional fine arts -- James O'Malley, Youngstown, "Drink Coca Cola," first place; Josephine Gustovic, Brookfield, "The Scenic Route," second; and Kimberly Brady, New Wilmington, "Enduring Love," third.

    • Amateur fine arts -- Martha Augustine, Mercer, "Harvest," first; Sally Jones Rodgers, Portersville, Pa., "My Potting Shed," second; and Alane Ondic, Sharon, "Last Night I Dreamt of ...," third.

    • Photography -- Kim Rajee, "The Osculation," first; and Susan Rust, "Highland Lighthouse Cape Cod, Mass.," third, both Sharon; and Cathy Lamont, Sharpsville, "First Snow," second.
    Carole Starz, photography instructor and art gallery manager at Grove City College, was judge.

    Kaufmann's department store sponsored the show.
