After two years of planning, Hickory VFW Post 6166 members expect to be in our new facility by early or mid-fall 2000.

Located at Route 62 and South Darby Road, our new building will be able to accommodate 500 people for community events, weddings and banquets. Lunches and dinners will be available daily and open to the public at reasonable prices.

Hickory VFW has been a vital part of our community for 54 years and shall continue to be. We have long supported our youth by sponsoring numerous activities such as Little League baseball, football, wrestling, girls softball and Scouting programs. Our schools benefit from scholarships, reading aids, and Voice of Democracy, Loyalty and Americanism programs. Many charities benefit from Post 6166.

Disabled veterans have always been a main priority for us. The public’s kind response to our annual poppy sale goes toward disabled veterans. We take great pride in our golf course; continuous updating since 1984 has contributed to a beautiful layout. Our regular and social members will benefit this year by a discount on green fees.

Hickory VFW has been and will continue to be a community-oriented organization. When we have our open house this fall, come check us out. You and your family are cordially invited. Remember, you do not have to be a veteran to join the VFW. Social memberships are available for a $13 annual fee, which allows you all the privileges of the club.
