AK Steel promotes Sawhill’s Sloan
AK Steel on Friday named Robert C. Sloan president of the Sawhill Tubular Division.
Sloan joined AK Steel in 1990 as vice president of Sawhill’s manufacturing operations in Sharon, Wheatland and Warren, Ohio.
Prior to joining Sawhill, Sloan held engineering and managerial posts at Babcock and Wilcox, and with U.S. Steel Corp. He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from West Virginia University, Morgantown, and a master’s in business management from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.
AK Steel’s Sawhill Tubular Division produces standard pipe and tubular products for various industrial and commercial markets.
AK Steel is based in Middletown, Ohio, and employs about 11,000 people at 11 locations in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Pennsylvania.
