HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP
Township joins corporation for valley enterprise zone
Hempfield Township supervisors Tuesday voted to join a nonprofit corporation to administer funds of the Shenango Valley Enterprise Zone.
The corporation, to consist of the zone’s municipal participants, will administer the funds used in making low interest loans for economic development. The state recently turned over the task to local control.
Hempfield Township has been a member of the Shenango Valley Enterprise Zone for a number of years, said Supervisor Gary E. Hittle.
Two areas in the township, Reynolds East Business Park and the South Plant of Trinity Industries — Greenville Rail Car Division, are located in the zone.
