Local woman is semi-finalist in Teacher of Year contest
Mari Lynn Fauceglia, a teacher at Sharpsville Middle School, has advanced to be a semi-finalist in the 2001 Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year Award contest.
As the next step in the selection process, Mrs. Fauceglia is required to submit three essays to the selection committee. The semi-finalists who advance to regional finalists will be notified by mid-April. Regional finalists are then required to submit a videotape of a classroom teaching episode.
The person selected as the Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year serves as a spokesperson for teachers across the state. Selection focuses attention on excellence in teaching and the ability to communicate to a broad audience.
