Police arrest Warren woman on concealed gun charge
A Warren, Ohio woman was arrested after a traffic stop early this morning for carrying a concealed gun, police said.
Alza V. Scott, 22, was arrested at 4:03 a.m. at Budd Street and S. Oakland Avenue on a charge of carrying a firearm without a license, police said.
Ms. Scott was a passenger in a car driven by Christopher J. Anderson, Youngstown, police said. They said the car was stopped for having a burnt-out light.
The car was first sighted on Mesabi Street and stopped a few blocks later. When the patrolman patted down Anderson and Ms. Scott, he found a handgun in her right pants pocket, police said.
The gun was a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun that was fully loaded and had a laser sight, police said. Checks were still being done to find out where the gun came from, police said.
Anderson was held for investigative detention, police said.
