NEW VERNON TOWNSHIP
Pair with gun, bat rob store
Armed robbers held up a New Vernon Township gas station early Friday, state police said today.
Police said two people, armed with a revolver and a baseball bat, entered McQuiston’s Gas Station on Billy Boyd Road at 1:35 a.m. Police did not say whether the suspects were men or women.
The pair took about $2,045 and 23 packs of cigarettes, police said.
A spokesman from McQuiston’s said the two were wearing masks and told the clerk to go into the back room. When the clerk peeked out, the two were gone. The clerk was not injured, the spokesman said.
Police had no additional information this morning.
