FARRELL

Facing attempted murder, Savage gives himself up

Damascus Simone Savage turned himself in at 10:15 a.m. Monday to face charges in connection with Saturday’s shooting of Brian Pleasant.

Pleasant, 31, of 374 Quinby St., Sharon, remained in stable condition this morning at UPMC Horizon, Farrell. He was shot in the arm and chest.

Savage, 21, of 913 Wallis Ave., was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and possessing instruments of crime.

Pleasant was shot at about 12:45 a.m. in the 700 block of Lee Avenue, Farrell, police said. Police saw a blood trail at the site but Pleasant had already been taken to the hospital.

Police talked to Pleasant shortly before he was taken in for surgery and he identified Savage as the man who shot him, police said. Another witness also identified Savage as the shooter, police said.

However, Pleasant has been uncooperative in other questioning and a motive has not been determined, police said.

Several shots were fired, police said. Pleasant was hit twice.

Savage was arraigned Monday by District Justice Henry J. Russo, Hermitage.

Savage was taken to Mercer County Jail after failing to post $50,000 bond.

Defense attorney Stephen G. Delpero said he believes Savage has no criminal record.

Savage’s preliminary hearing was set for 11 a.m. May 17.
