Police warn of traveling thieves

Police are warning residents about traveling thieves in the area.

Three women tried to force themselves into the home of an 88-year-old woman who lives in the 500 block of Fisher Hill Street, Sharon police said. They said the resident went to her door at about 2:10 p.m. Saturday where a woman started talking to her and asked to leave a package at her house. When the resident went inside to get a piece of paper, the woman followed her into the house, police said.

The woman saw two other women also enter her house and told them to get out and that they could not leave the package, police said. She then called her son, who called police.

The three women were white, police said. One woman was about 5 feet 10 inches tall, in her mid 20s with blonde hair and was wearing gray pants, police said. The second woman was slightly shorter, also in her 20s and looked like she was related to the first woman, police said. The third woman was short, in her 20s and was wearing a dark dress, police said.
