DELAWARE TOWNSHIP, MERCER

Man jailed after attack, threats, police say

A Jefferson Township man remained in jail Saturday night after attacking four people and threatening two policemen, police said.

Police arrested Samuel John Raddish, of 1542 Lake Road, at 8 p.m. Thursday at home on charges of harassment, simple assault, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and terroristic threats, state police at Mercer said Saturday.

Raddish went to a home on Shearer Road in Delaware Township and started a "violent altercation" with the four people in the house, police said.

The two men and two women ran to a neighboring house, but Raddish kicked in the door and continued to assault the group, police said.

Raddish fled, but police later found him at home and he threatened to harm Mercer Borough Police Chief Frank Detelich and Sgt. Jack Hite, police said.

Raddish is being held on $35,000 bond after being arraigned before District Justice Ruth M. French, Mercer, police said.

Hite and Raddish were involved in an altercation in September 1999 that ended with Hite being dragged by Raddish’s vehicle as he drove away, police said.
