Plans set to observe National Day of Prayer
The 50th annual National Day of Prayer will be observed May 3 in Greenville. "One Nation Under God" is the theme, taken from Psalm 33:12.
Participants should meet that day in Central Park for a 9:30 a.m. prayer walk. Those with small children should bring strollers.
Prayer time, conducted by community members, will begin at noon in the park. Dennis Stake will provide praise music before the service
In case of inclement weather, the group will meet in the basement of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1 Trinity Place.
A salad luncheon, provided by Greenville Council of Women, will follow in Calvin Hall of First Presbyterian Church, 323 Main St. Hillside Presbyterian Church, 2 N. High St., and the Salvation Army are the luncheon’s co-hosts. Registration for the luncheon is needed by April 30; call 588-6520.
Those attending the luncheon are asked to bring paper and personal care products to be donated to the Salvation Army and Good Shepherd.
