Police charge Paige with killing city man

Arthur N. "Oppy" Paige Jr. was arrested Wednesday on a charge of criminal homicide for allegedly shooting to death Rasceo "Angel" Riley in Farrell, police said.
Riley, 30, of 218 Fruit Ave., Farrell, was found dead on the sidewalk in front of his home shortly before midnight Oct. 3. He died of a single gunshot to the head, police said.
Paige, 26, of 118 Fleetwood Court, Wheatland, was arraigned before District Justice Lawrence Silvis, Worth Township, and taken to Mercer County Jail. Bond was not set.
Paige's preliminary hearing was set for 9 a.m. Oct. 24 before District Justice Henry J. Russo, Hermitage.
Paige turned himself in for questioning Oct. 8, but was released after he could not provide any information to aid the investigation, police said.
He was interviewed Wednesday and arrested at the end of the session at 8:45 p.m. on a warrant obtained earlier in the day from Russo, police said.
Police Chief Joseph Timko would not say what information led to the arrest.
