WEST SALEM TOWNSHIP

Burned dad still in critical condition

A father who tried to rescue his 3-year-old daughter from a burning mobile home Dec. 19 remains in critical condition in West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, a spokeswoman said this morning.

Scott Randall, who ran back into the blaze, was burned over 80 percent to 90 percent of his body. Randall, who underwent a series of skin graft surgeries, has been in critical condition since he was admitted to the hospital hours after the fire.

Randall tried to save Samantha Lynn Randall, who died in the burning home at Millero-Palm Mobile Home Park in West Salem Township. A problem with a wood burning stove was cited as the cause of the fire.

His son, 18-month-old Sean Michael Randall, and the boy's mother, Jane McKinney, escaped unharmed.
