An argument over a girl escalated into a pursuit and drive-by shooting at 12:05 a.m. Tuesday in Farrell, police said.

Three Warren, Ohio, men have been arrested, but two other men who also might have fired shots have not been found, police said.

Police were told of the shooting by an 18-year-old woman and two girls, ages 15 and 17, all from Sharon, who were with the Warren men at the time it occurred, police said.

The females were friends of the men, Donnell T. "Deacon" Stubbs, 20, Brian E. Miller, 21, and Terrell A. "Styles" Myrick, 21, and were out with them, police said.

The men got into an altercation with Lamar Wilder and Dewayne Smith in the 900 block of Negley Street, Farrell, police said.

Wilder is believed to live in Farrell, while Smith is believed to be a Shenango Valley resident, police said.

Police said Stubbs, Myrick and Miller were talking to someone when Wilder and Smith pulled up.

Stubbs and Wilder argued over a girl, police said. Either Wilder or Smith pulled a gun, police said. Stubbs held a gun to Wilder's face and punched him in the mouth, police said.

Police believe the men were standing in front of their cars at the time.

When Wilder and Smith drove off, Stubbs, Miller, Myrick and the females got into a car and pursued them, police said.

Stubbs asked Myrick, who was driving, if he "got that" and Myrick handed Stubbs a silver handgun, police said. Stubbs said, "I'll kill that -----," using a racial epithet, police said.

While westbound in the 200 block of Roemer Boulevard, the men spotted the Wilder-Smith vehicle traveling east, and Stubbs fired several shots, police said.

Police said it's possible that someone in the Wilder-Smith vehicle also fired, but have not been able to confirm that.

Police received no reports of injuries or property damage from the gunfire, and have not seen the Wilder-Smith vehicle.

Bullet casings were found in the car occupied by the Warren men and the females, police said.

Police said they do not know if Wilder and Smith were hit. One of them was supposed to come into the station Tuesday for questioning but did not show up, police said. Both men are being sought, police said.

After the shooting, two of the females jumped from the car, but a girl could not because Miller held her leg, police said. She was able to break free after kicking him in the face, police said.

The females ran to the police station, police said.

Based on their description of the car, police asked for other departments to watch for it, and Sharon police spotted the car at East State and South Dock streets, police said. After following the car for a short time, Sharon police said they stopped it at 12:37 a.m. in the 300 block of Dock.

Police said Miller had access to the trunk through a fold-down rear seat. That is where they found a silver handgun, later identified as a .380-caliber semi-automatic pistol, police said.

Stubbs was charged with two counts of attempted homicide, four counts of aggravated assault, five counts of reckless endangerment and one count of carrying a firearm without a license, police said.

Myrick faces charges of two counts of conspiracy to commit homicide, four counts of conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, five counts of conspiracy to commit reckless endangerment and one count of carrying a firearm without a license, police said. Miller was charged with unlawful restraint and tampering with evidence, police said.

Stubbs and Myrick were taken to Mercer County Jail after failing to post $50,000 bond, and Miller after failing to post $25,000 bond, police said. Their preliminary hearings are set for 2:30 p.m. March 1 before District Justice Henry J. Russo, Hermitage, who arraigned them. Stubbs also was wanted on a warrant for failing to pay fines on a Dec. 18, 2000, traffic citation. He was seen driving the wrong way in the 900 block of Hamilton Avenue, Farrell, police said.
