BROOKFIELD

Item resembling a hand found in resident's yard

Brookfield police are investigating something that resembled a hand that was found in a resident's yard Tuesday evening.

Though police declined to say where it was found, Police Chief Dan Faustino said it resembles a "smaller hand, looks like a kind of fleshy hand."

Faustino said the call came in at about 8:30 p.m., and the homeowner thought his dog had brought it from a nearby woods.

The police are to meet with Dr. Humphrey Germanik, forensic pathologist for the Trumbull County's coroner office, this morning so he can examine it.
