Pedestrian hit by car hospitalizedA Volant-area woman was listed in fair condition this morning at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, for injuries suffered when she was hit by car at 1 p.m. Sunday as she was walking near her home.
Sandra Lee Knight, 47, of Potter Run Road, Washington Township, was walking west along Potter Run Road when "for some unknown reason, (she) darted directly into the path" of a westbound car driven by 32-year-old Christopher J. Copeland, state police in New Castle said. Ms. Knight was flown to the Pittsburgh hospital after the accident, police said.
Police said no charges are pending against Copeland.
