GREENVILLE
Dr. Brown appointed to water board
Dr. John Brown of 53 N. Main St. in Greenville has been appointed to fill a vacancy on the Greenville Municipal Authority board, which has the final word on a potential multi-million-dollar sale of the town's water system.
Brown was chosen from three applicants, all of them borough residents.
Former authority board President Mario Marini resigned in late April, saying his three young children and new job factored into his decision to step down. Council approved the resignation in early May.
Brown will serve the remainder of Marini's unexpired term, which ends at the end of the year. Brown will make $100 a meeting; the board meets once a month.
