Payless robber gets away with cash

A robber got away with a small amount of cash Tuesday from Payless Shoe Source, 1138 E. State St., Sharon, police said.

A man walked into the store at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday and demanded the clerk open the register and give him the money inside, police said. The man didn't have a weapon, police said.

The man got a small amount of cash and ran out of the store headed east towards Hermitage, police said.

Police said witnesses described the robber as a black man in his 40s or 50s, about 6 feet tall, 185 pounds, with a goatee and glasses. He was wearing a multi-color Hawaiian print shirt and blue jeans with holes in them, police said. He may have been wearing a dark baseball cap.
