Two men were arrested this morning after police said they broke into a house in Sharon and attempted to steal jewelry.

Joseph Kirkland, 39, of 802 New Castle Ave., Sharon, and Carlton Estes, 35, of Rochester, Pa., were arrested after they used baseball bats to break into a house in the 100 block of Fourth Avenue just after 7 a.m. and threatened the residents, whom they knew, police said.

The men took jewelry from the house and were attempting to leave when police arrived, police said.
