No one hurt badly in Rt. 18 accidents

The first Route 18 construction-related accidents occurred Friday and both of them were caused by drivers not stopping for a line of traffic, according to the Hermitage police.

One driver was injured in a construction-related accident on North Hermitage Road, when Lori Maurice, 36, of 1165 South Keel Ridge Road, Hermitage, failed to stop for a line of traffic in front of a flag man and struck a vehicle driven by Barry Dull, 36, of 460 District Road, Delaware Township, at 4:15 p.m. Friday, near Highland Road, said police. Ms. Maurice was treated at UPMC Horizon, Farrell, said police. Maurice was cited for not driving at a safe speed.

A motorcyclist was injured at 11:50 p.m. Friday, when Timothy Allen, 48, of 508 Reynolds Road, Greenville, failed to stop his vehicle for a line of traffic and struck a motorcycle driven by Fred Kelley, 55, of 81 Edgewood Drive, Greenville, police said.

Kelley was treated at UPMC Horizon, Farrell. Allen was charged with careless driving.
