Displays are planned for the following events:

   » Fireworks will be held during the Small Ships Revue/Red Hot Festival at 10 tonight at Quaker Steak & Lube, Sharon.

   » Grove City Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the Community Patriotic Program at 8 p.m. July 4 on the lower campus of Grove City College. Fireworks will follow.

   » Independence Day Celebration in Volant features fireworks at dusk June 29.

A classic car show, music by Frankie and Sensations, plus Limbo and Hola Hoop contests, will be held throughout the day.

   » New Wilmington's Independence Day Celebration at Brittain Lake on the campus of Westminster College, is set for about 8:45 p.m. July 3. River City Brass Band will be the featured entertainment. Bring lawn chairs or blankets.

   » Fireworks will be displayed at 10 p.m. July 4 during an Independence Day celebration at Pearson Park, New Castle. Neshannock Volunteer Fire Department will provide free fire truck rides, hot dogs and soft drinks during the celebration.

   » Fireworks Capital of American Fireworks Festival, July 13 in downtown New Castle will be filled with arts and crafts activities for children as well as food vendors, live entertainment, flea market and the American Cancer Society's Rubber Ducky Derby. Fireworks extravaganza from Zambelli International will be detonated after dark.

   » The 22nd Annual Ellwood City Arts, Crafts and Food Festival, July 4-7, in Ewing Park.

A fireworks finale begins at 10 p.m. July 7 at Helling Stadium.

   » Italian Baby Doll Dance, an indescribable fireworks display shot from the arms of a large-sized doll, is the showcase of the St. Vitus Parish Festival in New Castle, Aug. 7-10. Baby Doll Dance begins at dusk Aug. 8. Children's fireworks at 9 p.m. Aug. 10, followed by another baby doll dance.

   » Lawrence County Fair has a fireworks finale at 10 p.m. Aug. 17. The fair funs Aug. 12-17.
