Teen-aged stabbing suspect facing charges as adult
A 16-year-old boy was charged as an adult for allegedly stabbing a 19-year-old man Tuesday morning at a Columbia Park residence in Hempfield Township, police said.
Jason Lewis, of 23 Columbia Park, Hempfield Township, was arraigned Tuesday by District Justice William H. Fagley, Greenville, on two counts of aggravated assault and one count of simple assault and released on his own recognizance, a court spokesperson said.
Police said the victim was stabbed more than once in the back. He was taken to UPMC Horizon, Greenville, and underwent surgery for his injuries, police said.
The Mercer County District Attorney's Office determines whether juveniles are charged as adults, police said.
