2 teen boys found dead by rural road
EVANS CITY (AP) -- One of two teen-age boys found dead along a narrow country road early Wednesday was probably hit by a car, but the other boy appears to have been killed separately, police said.
Police said 15-year-old Scott Fosnaught most likely was hit by a vehicle, because of the severe trauma to various parts of his body. But his friend, Shawn Bauer, 15, had only head injuries, leading police to believe he may have been killed separately from Fosnaught -- though police aren't sure how.
Police found the boys when someone called to report a hit-and-run accident along Cashdollar Road in Forward Township about 2 a.m., not far from Bauer's home.
Fosnaught was already dead. Bauer was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital where he died about 90 minutes later.
The boys were walking to Bauer's house after visiting a friend when they were killed, police said.
There were no vehicles in the area where the boys were found, but authorities asked residents to watch for damaged vehicles.
Police want anyone with information on the boys or their activities before they died to call the Butler barracks at (724) 284-8100.
