HERMITAGE

Pair charged with purse snatching

Police arrested a man and woman Thursday they say stole a purse from a Brookfield woman in the parking lot of a Hermitage grocery store last week.

Tonya K. Bulboff, 24, of 116 Shenango St., Greenville, and John T. Sorsby, 24, of 313 Franklin St., Linesville, are both charged with theft by unlawful taking and criminal conspiracy, police said.

Police said Ms. Bulboff got out of a car and grabbed the purse from a shopping cart at 2:20 p.m. Aug. 12. She got back in the car, which Sorsby was driving, and the pair drove off, police said.

Ms. Bulboff and Sorsby were caught after witnesses took down the license plate number of the car, police said.

Ms. Bulboff was arraigned before District Justice Henry J. Russo where she was released on her own recognizance, and Sorsby was notified via summons, police said.

Police said they didn't know if the theft was related to two other purse snatchings in city parking lots on July 29 and Aug. 5.
