Police say 2 arrested with pot in Buhl Farm

Two people were arrested in a Buhl Farm park parking lot at 4:30 p.m. Thursday for trying to sell marijuana, Hermitage police said.

Angelo Joseph Lomonte, 27, of 7266 W. Market St., Mercer, and Julie L. Alongi, 19, of 65 Baker Ave., Hermitage, were arraigned this morning at District Justice Henry J. Russo's court in Hermitage, police said. Lomonte posted $2,500 bond after the arraignment; Ms. Alongi remained in the Shenango Valley Lock-up this morning, according to a court official.

Each was charged with possession of marijuana, manufacturing with attempt to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal conspiracy after police saw them acting suspiciously, police said. After searching their vehicle, police found several ounces of marijuana, baggies of the drug, money and paraphernalia, police said.

If convicted of all charges, each could face up to 12 years in jail and up to $60,000 in fines, according to the Mercer County District Attorney's office.
