Hermitage police said they misidentified the survivor of a two-car crash in which a Hermitage man was killed Tuesday.

The survivor is Edward Hawkins, 38, of 347 Hadley Road, Hempfield Township, police said.

Hawkins was listed in satisfactory condition Thursday at the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Police said they had given the name of the owner of the car, and an incorrect age.

Killed was Nick Hartis, 75, of 276 Sunset Blvd., Hermitage.

Hartis was driving the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of the Shenango Valley Freeway when his car hit Hawkins' car at about 8:45 p.m., police said.
