Dairy princess will battle for state title

Maggie Moore, the 2002-2003 Mercer County Dairy Princess, will compete against other county dairy princesses for the title of Pennsylvania Dairy Princess Sept. 19 to 21 in Camp Hill, Pa.

The winner will represent the dairy industry of Pennsylvania throughout the coming year. Contestants will be judged on presentations, skits and knowledge of the dairy industry.

Maggie began her reign as the Mercer County Dairy Princess on July 1 and will complete her reign July 1, 2003. She attends Pennsylvania State University majoring in agricultural extension education.

Maggie, the daughter of Ralph and Margie Moore, Cannery Road, Mercer, owns 10 animals on the 310-acre "Amoore Holstein Farm" which has a herd of 150 head. Maggie and her family are very active in local, state and national shows.

Maggie spent the summer representing the dairy industry of Mercer County, doing school and store promotions, radio spots, special events and many fairs.
