to be installed
at Unity

Presbytery of Shenango will hold an installation service for the Rev. David Wayne Hunt as minister of word and sacrament in Unity Presbyterian Church, 1857 Mercer-West Middlesex Road. The service is set for 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the church.

Rev. Hunt formerly served as emergency department chaplain at Sentara-Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Va. He also was interim director of children and youth ministries at a Presbyterian church in Norfolk. Rev. Hunt previously was pastor of a Presbyterian church in South Carolina.

He earned a bachelor of arts degree from Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk; a master's degree in Christian education from Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond, Va.; and a master of divinity degree from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Ga.

Rev. Hunt and his wife, Ruth, have two children, Andrew, 14; and Joyce, 12. They are living in the Unity manse.

Representing the Presbytery will be a commission consisting of Rev. Robert Dayton, the Presbytery's moderator; Rev. Dr. Ray Brugler, who served from July 2001 to August 2002 as Unity's interim pastor; Rev. Dr. Donald Wilson, pastor of Lebanon Presbyterian Church, Lackawannock Township; Elder Gail Allen of West Middlesex Presbyterian Church; Elder Jonathan Stewart of Leesburg Presbyterian Church, Springfield Township; and Elder Harry Riethmiller of the host church, who was pastor nominating committee chairman. Rev. Dr. David Dawson, executive presbyter of Shenango Presbytery's executive presbyter, also will take part.

A reception for the Hunt family will follow the installation service. The public is invited.
