New pastor at Central Community

Phillip D. Beck was voted senior pastor of Central Community Church, 3571 N. Hermitage Road, Pymatuning Township, on Sept. 8.

Born in Dearborn, Mich., he relocated with his family in March 1998 to Greenville to work for a local company.

Pastor Beck's ministerial background includes 10 years as a deacon; three as a lay youth leader; and four as a lay college director at Temple Baptist Church in Michigan.

The Becks have attended Central since November 2000. He assumed responsibility of the small groups ministry, became a board member and served as interim pastor since March.

Pastor Beck's education includes an associate's degree in general management from Baptist Bible College. The Henry Ford Technical Trade School graduate is a Journeymen Pattern Maker-Wood Model Maker in Michigan.

He and his wife of 18 years, Laura, have three children, Nathan 16; Ben, 15; and Lindsay, 13.
