Chamber, Civic Committee seeks food, school supplies

Mercer County Area Chamber of Commerce Civic Committee will continue its food and school supply drive until Oct. 21.

Donated food items will be given to Loaves & Fishes, the Sharing Shed and United Methodist Church Lunch Program. School supplies will be distributed through Loaves & Fishes and the Sharing Shed.

School supplies will be accepted by Mercer Free Methodist Church, 519 Grant St. Non-perishable food and school supplies can be dropped at any participating Mercer-based business and at Mercer Area Chamber of Commerce, 132 S. Pitt St.; and Mercer Area Library, 143 N. Pitt St.

Donors can fill out a coupon for a drawing at 7 p.m. Oct. 31.. Prizes include two hams donated by Howard & Sons and Walt's and a $20 child's gift certificate from Otter Creek Store.

Participating Mercer-based businesses are: Corner Kitchen, Courthouse Square Dry Goods, The Gallery, Mercer Mercantile & Soda Shoppe, Oakes Hardware, Otter Creek Store, Pizza Joe's, Shannon's Kandy Kitchen, Showtime Video and Walt's.
