Westminster College and News Channel 33, Youngstown, will honor outstanding area educators with the News Channel 33 Westminster College Classroom Hero Award.

From October through May, 14 area teachers will be recognized. Students or teachers can nominate teachers by explaining how they make a difference in the lives of others and go the extra mile for students.

"Classroom Heroes" will be presented with a certificate and sweatshirt from Westminster College, and be profiled on television. In addition, a book will be donated in the winner's name to the school's library.

Nominations of area teachers of students in kindergarten through 12th grade should include the name of the teacher, school, and a brief description of why this person is a "classroom hero."
